FHON, the halo section of the Ursa Astronomical Association publish observations and halo related stories in Sivuaurinko-column of Ursa Minor -publication bimonthly. Ursa Minor is a bulletin for observation sections of Ursa (like halos, auroras, deep sky etc.). Here you can found halo sections Sivuaurinko-columns. Most of them have several observation drawings and in many cases figure texts are in English. Almost all have brief English summary as well. Titles are translated to English, but columns are in Finnish. Text are as they have been published in Ursa Minor. Some are in HTML-format and some are in pdf-format (marked as pdf). Some of these Sivuaurinko-columns are made available through
FHON's pages in Finnish only. So you should return to this page by

Valot ja värit 1986 Halo observations was in Valot ja värit (lights and colors) -column of Ursa Minor last time in Ursa Minor number 4/86. After that halos got own Sivuaurinko-column. So the first Sivuaurinko-column was published in Ursa Minor number 5/86 althought halo section of Ursa was only a subsection under Ursa's atmospheric light phenomena -section until mid 1989. After that Ursa's halo section has been as independent section under Ursa Astronomical Association. |
