Avaruus
2003 - final layout
The entrance
to the exhibition will be through J and C entrances of the Cable
factory. Doors are located to the seaside end of the Cable Factory.
More information in general about the Cable Factory is available
at www.kaapelitehdas.fi. The expo area is called Merikaapelihalli,
Hall for the seabed cables, meaning the space is big: 110 m
long, 22 m wide and 13.4 m high. The total surface area of the
first floor is 2700 sq metres.
The info
stand, vestiaire and ticket sales are located at the entrance
hall (A).
The expo
hall has no bright lights, just general dim red lightling and
spotlights for the exhibition items and stands. The ESO (1)
and ESA (2) stands are clearly visible after entering the exhibition.
Other major items include the Rosetta comet landscape, other
ESA spacecraft models, the tower-like stand for the Tähdet
ja avaruus -magazine, banners of the Technical university of
Helsinki, long row of companies and the University of Helsinki
and Finnish meteorological institute on the left side.
The ESA
area will be in reality more larger and leaning towards Tekes
stand; it will fill the whole area on that location with walking
paths going though it.
The auditorium
with big screen is on the far end of the hall and the Ursa book
sales with other commercial exhibitors above it on the balcony.
The balcony
is filled with amateur astronomy activities: two planetariums,
Ursa presentations, local astro clubs, student groups and so
on. There will be also cafe and space for relaxation.
