Avaruus
2003, Helsinki Space Exhibition, will take over the Kaapelitehdas
during the weekend at the turn of the October and November 2003. In
addition to all Finnish space and astronomy related research institutes,
universities and industry, there will be a big representation from
the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Southern Observatory
(ESO). The Avaruus 2003 is organized by Astronomical association Ursa
in cooperation with the Tekes (National Technology Agency) and the
Academy of Finland.
The exhibition
is a follow up to the previous Helsinki Space Exhibition held in November
2001. The Avaruus 2001 was a success: during one weekend about 25
000 people visited the exhibition and much more followed the lectures
and activities of the expo at the live broadcasting on the internet
and later on TV.
