Hello Listees,
What a breaking halo newsflash I have. I was
out walking in the woods with my camera when I
looked to the west to be greeted by a long very
bright section of parhelic circle. I got the
camera out and looked again and lo and behold
there was Wegener's anthelic arc!!! I got quite a
few pics of it and there is clear coloring in the
halo. Later on when the circumzenith,
supralateral arc and 46d halo appeared I saw
faint white sharp curving arc near circumzenith
and it was a rare heliac arc from parry oriented
columns!! again more pictures. I also got sharp
tangent and parry arcs.
What a way to start the 2006 halo season with two
new halos!!
