I've been photographing halos to sun direction with Fuji 100 film, F22 and
shutter speed 1/60 or 1/125s. If you use these both shutter speeds you
should
in most cases succeed in getting nice pictures.
For the phenomena closer to the sun (elliptical halos, aureole, iridescent
clouds) adjust the shutter speed to 1/500 or 1/1000s or even 1/2000
depending
how close to sun the phenomena occurs.
Use always slide film.
