While driving home today, there were several thunderstorms surrounding the
area where I live in southern Arizona. When I looked toward the Whetstone
Mountains, I saw several layers of "scalloped" clouds. They looked like
the
bottom edges of theater curtains--rounded, like this UUUUUUU. There were
three or four layers of them, overlapping. The darkest ones were at the
top,
and each layer was a little lighter. It was very dramatic and very pretty.
